THE final countdown of new homes as part of a landmark community in Lydney is underway.
River View Garden Village is a blossoming new community being shaped by the Edenstone Group, featuring homes and facilities, with an emphasis on sustainable living.
Shortlisted in the community initiative category of the 2020 Housebuilder Awards, the scheme has developed into a vibrant new neighbourhood where people love living.
All of the properties on the Edenstone Homes phase have now been sold and availability from Bluebell Homes is now limited.
Edenstone Group sales director Adele McCoy explained: “River View was our first development to feature designs from Bluebell Homes and along with Edenstone Homes they’ve been well received by a mix of first time buyers, families and downsizers. Part of the appeal is that there’s lots of open space for residents to enjoy – we had to increase the number of allotment plots available because of demand. There’s also a wetland area, children’s play area and the opportunity to hire bikes.
“As the neighbourhood has grown it’s become a real community, where people look out for each other. Residents have really bonded and have developed social groups including a knit and natter group. They’ve even started producing their own newsletter – The River View Review. For those hoping to be part of the new community, it could soon be the last chance to buy as we have fewer than 15 properties available. Homes here are so popular that we’re on course to sell-out sooner than expected.”
Located on Highfield Road, once complete River View will comprise 177 new homes.
Current prices range from £220,000 for a three-bedroom semi-detached Alveston up to £304,995 for a four-bedroom detached Carcroft, similar to the show home. Shared ownership properties are available from just £100,000 for a 40%s hare.
“Moving to River View offers opportunities to live sustainably and reduce your impact on the environment. Allotments offer the chance to reduce your food miles and lead an active lifestyle, plus we’ll be adding fitness trails with outdoor equipment to help residents stay fit close to home,” Adele added.
“Hiring a bike offers the chance to reduce reliance on cars and we’re helping buyers future proof their transport by including electric vehicle charging points for every home on the Bluebell phase. Plus, the homes are full of energy efficient measures helping homeowners save energy and money.”
River View resident Jamie and his family are enjoying life in their new home overlooking the pond and just a minute’s walk from the play area.
“We wanted to buy into a community feel and that’s there. We’ve met some lovely neighbours and you have that shared experienced of all moving onto a new development together.
Downsizer Stella Jennison added: “There’s a real community spirit at River View – I’ve never lived anywhere like it.”
The show home at River View Garden Village is open for viewing by appointment only.
